Prayer for Canon's family

Father, I come before you now in Christ's precious name asking your blessing upon this family who has suffered so great a loss. You know their grief and pain. We do not understand, Lord, but we trust You. We know that Your plans are perfect, and we pray that You will be glorified in these circumstances. Comfort Carla and Canon's siblings and other family members as only You can, and give them peace. Make your presence known to each them and hold them close. Give them strength in the days to come. Heal their broken hearts and fill them with hope. Thank you, Father, for answering our prayers according to Your will.

Prayer Requests

For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom his whole family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen. Ephesians 3:14-21

Day 20 - Integrity

Kayla

Heavenly Father, Thank you for sparing Kayla's life. Thank you for watching over her and for your intervention.

Lord, I need your wisdom. Guide me in what to do and say that will be comforting and encouraging. Make your presence known to her, and open the eyes of her heart that she may see how much she is loved and cared for.

Help her to trust that her dad wants only the best, Your best, for her. As her wounds heal, Father, mend their relationship and strengthen them.

I love you, Lord. I pray that You will use me in this situation as you see fit to bring glory and honor to You in the name of my precious Lord and Savior. Amen.

Praying for Amy and her family, Elise and her boys, Paulette and her children, this family, and this family.

Father, in the name of my Lord Jesus I lift up to You these families and ask that You pour out your blessings upon them. Comfort them in their sorrow, Lord, and give them strength and wisdom for the journey ahead. Surround them with love and hold them close that they may find peace in Your presence. God, be with Addison and her parents today as they visit with doctors to schedule surgery. Heal their hearts, Lord. Amen.

Day 6 - Wisdom

Spiritual wisdom and understanding, knowledge of God: For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you and asking God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding. And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, (Colossians 1:9-10)

Lord, increase our hunger and thirst for knowledge of You. Grow in us wisdom and understanding. Open the eyes of our hearts that we may see Your hand at work in and around us. Fill us with Your Spirit that we may seek to know and do Your will and that we may bear fruit that is pleasing to You. Thank You, Father for all You have done for us and are about to do in us. May all that we say and do bring glory and honor to You in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

Day 5 - Self-discipline

Training the body to do what it should: Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. Therefore I do not run like a man running aimlessly; I do not fight like a man beating the air. No, I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize. (1 Corinthians 9:24-27)

Father, we know that our bodies are Your temple. Help us to treat our bodies as Your dwelling place, neither indulging in anything harmful nor overindulging in anything otherwise not harmful. Give us self-discipline in training for the race so that we will not be disqualified for the prize. In Jesus' name, amen.

Day 4 - Determination

A fixed gaze, not sidetracked: Let your eyes look straight ahead, fix your gaze directly before you. Make level paths for your feet and take only ways that are firm. Do not swerve to the right or the left; keep your foot from evil. (Proverbs 4:25-27)

Father, we are so easily distracted by the world around us and the pleasures it seems to offer. We get caught up in the pursuit of happiness and forget to keep our eyes on You. That is when we falter, when we stumble, when we stray from the path that You have set before us. Lord, forgive us and help us to fix our eyes upon You. Guard our hearts and guide our steps. Deliver us from the evil one. Let us not be deceived by his lies, but let us hold fast to the truth in Your word and stand firm on Your promise to make a way for us to escape. In Jesus' precious name, I ask an extra measure of protection for my children. Amen.

Day 3 - Purity

No immorality, impurity, greed, or coarse talk: But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God's holy people. Day 2 - Humility

Humble, gentle and patient with others: Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. (Ephesians 4:2)

Father, You are so patient with us, yet we are so impatient with others. Forgive us for thinking we are better than anyone else or that we are more deserving of kindness. Remind us of Your love for us, and humble us Lord so that You may love others through us, even those that seem unlovable. Let us not be so proud that we would cause anyone to stumble. Give us a spirit of patience so that we would not miss an opportunity to allow You to minister to another through us. In Jesus' precious name, I ask that all we say and do be used to bring glory and honor to You.

Praying for Our Youth

Day 1 - Reverence
Living in reverent fear of God: Since you call on a Father who judges each man's work impartially, live your lives as strangers here in reverent fear. (1Peter 1:17)

Father, forgive us for living just like the world rather than living as strangers. Forgive us for embracing all the world has to offer as if it were not only temporary, as if it had any value, as if it were honorable to You. We know that it isn't, Lord. We know that You provide all we need, and there is nothing here on earth that has eternal value. You alone are worthy of all honor and praise, and without You we are pointless. Help us, Father, to remember Who You are and why we were created. You have set us apart from the world to glorify You. Help us to honor You in all that we say and do. Help us to choose good and shun evil for the sake of Jesus Christ. I ask this in His name, on behalf of my children and for myself. We love You, Lord. Amen.

A Season of Rejoicing

Praise the Lord! He is working in a mighty way and answering our prayers.

Addison is growing healthy and strong, and we are rejoicing over her progress.

Kevin came home, and we are celebrating with Dawn his joyful return.

I will continue to lift them up in prayer and thanksgiving for God's amazing grace.

Thank you, Father, for your love for us and for your faithfulness to us. We praise You, God, for everything You have done to restore these families. Hallelujah! We are grateful that You have given these as reminders to us that You will not fail us. In the precious name of Jesus, we give You all glory, honor, and praise! Amen.

A Prayer for Addie

Heavenly Father, I thank you for the miracle of birth and for the gift of a tiny new life. I thank you for the family of this precious little one, for all the many ways you have blessed them, and for all the ways you have blessed me through them. I ask now, Father, that you grant their request for a miracle. Bring healing to Baby Addie if that is your will, Lord, and comfort her family. Give them strength for today and hope for tomorrow. Hold them in the palm of Your hand, and calm their fears. I ask a special blessing upon Sarah as You use her writings to minister to others. I lift this family up to You in Jesus' name, praising You and thanking You for all You are about to do. Amen.
